The sauna has a long history. It is unclear who invented it, as it was a part of many ancient cultures including the Romans, Russians, Turks, Aztecs, American Indians and the Japanese. It is known however, that it was the Finns who decided to defy the Pope when he declared saunas and steam baths to be places of debauchery and banned them in the Middle Ages. They hid their saunas away in the forest and continued to use them with great dedication. Interestingly, there is now a TYLO sauna installed in the Vatican for the Pope to enjoy.

Are Swedish TYLO sauna heaters the "Real Thing"? Absolutely. The only difference between a Swedish TYLO heater and a Finnish sauna heater is the degree of efficiency. A TYLO heater will heat your sauna room more quickly, saving time and energy cost.
